What I like •.•

I like beautiful things...
-----Flowers-----
     -----Birds-----
  -----Sunsets-----
-----Art-----
    -----Music-----
-----Kindness-----
     -----Love-----
   -----Smiles-----
    ----Gratitude-----
-----Nature-----

These things are the first 10 that came to my mind. There is much to be grateful for. God gave us beauty and He also gave us the ability to see the beauty in everything.

Growing up

My children are becoming so grown up. My second child who will be fifteen next month wrote and gave a great talk yesterday at my nephews baptism. I am very proud of her.

My oldest is seventeen. It still is hard to believe it!

Friday night I brought my three oldest to the movies and I also brought Hillary's boyfriend. It was fun.

The usher who was exit greeting the movie told my kids I look like I am 20. He was shocked I am 35. A few people I work with at the theater said I look very young. One apologized and I let her know it makes me feel good. I love when I bring my kids to meet the people I work with.

In the summer I'll have 3 teenagers. Beautiful young ladies. My twins will be eleven in June.

I love my daughters!!

The arch came tumbling down

No, actually a contractor took the arch down. Our arch in front of our house was cracked and moving all the bricks. The architectural design was flawed. So it was torn down and a new arch is going up.

Hillary's Birthday Party...

Tonight we celebrated her 17th Birthday party. It seems strange that I have a daughter that age already.

She recently learned how to knit and I bought her a bunch of yarn and needles. She had some needles already but she wanted smaller ones. I also bought her a couple pairs of jeans and a new shirt. My mom bought her several shirts that Hillary loved. She needed new clothes really bad.

I had fun hanging out with her this weekend. She went with me to buy some Zebra finches. We went out to eat a couple of times.

Her birthday is later this week, but I didn't have my other children this weekend while they are at their dads. It was great just Hillary and I.

I should of taken pictures. I just thought of that. Oh well!

YESTERDAY

It would of been my dads 65th birthday yesterday. I cried for him. My tears don't come as heavy as they used to. It's been almost a year since he passed away. I miss my dad!

Poem: DAD

This poem is dedicated to our dad, Daniel Lamar Harmon.
We love him and are thankful to be called his daughter or son.

A dad, husband, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.
Through faith we know he will be all those forever without end.

He loved, served, taught, blessed, and sacrificed for his family.
He was an example to many and will be for all of his posterity.

Heavenly Father sent us to earth and gave us to our mom and dad.
We are thankful for choice parents, the love that we have all had.

Our dad departed from this life in peace and what peace that does bring.
The knowledge that he did not suffer is a sweet and cherished blessing.

He fulfilled life’s mission here in on earth, even though it is very hard.
We miss our dad, our hearts are heavy, we were all caught off guard.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, through the atonement paved the way.
He is in the hands of the Lord. We know we will see our dad someday.

Our sweet and wonderful dad we love you with all of our heart.
The memories of who you are and the love for you will never part.

Written by Kristi Patterson January 12, 2011

I wrote this poem for my dad who passed away on January 9, 2011 six days after turning 64. He was a wonderful man and father. I read the poem during the funeral. I prayed many times at what to write and I prayed I could read it well without crying too much. I was thankful I had the chance. I miss my dad very much.
