I made this apple pie yesterday and I wanted to be creative, so I used a couple star cookie cutters to make the top layer. I was glad too to use my new stoneware pie pan.
I think I'll do this more often. It was fun and a hit for the family.
This last Wednesday was the Solomon Ward Evening of Excellence. Kallee is in the middle with the red glasses and my twins, Kendree is holding the balloon and Kindsey is to the left.
This group of girls has a lot of talent.
Kallee had Divine Nature and she made cookies for everyone.
Kindsey and Kendree did artwork.
Each Young Women displayed their talents/projects. The artwork was made of balloons.
We have an invisible shield that we put on, yet it is powerful nonetheless. I thought about this a couple of years ago and while reading in Alma this week I again thought about it. Here is my thought.... We gain strength by... ...reading the scriptures daily and remembering and thinking about what you read. ...prayer and having faith knowing Heavenly Father listens to us and loves all of us. ...paying tithes and offerings and with a good heart. ...treating all those you are around that they are precious sons and daughters of God. ...applying the Atonement in your life. ...being honest and trustworthy. ...living morally clean and obeying the word of wisdom The list can go on and I am thankful to have the opportunity to live the principles of the gospel. Thankful to be taught what is right and to be raised in this wonderful church. I have so much faith in the list above. I can feel the immense blessings and power that comes from living the best of my ability. I read the scriptures daily and prayer a few times a day. I know Heavenly Father loves me and the Savior does as well.
